Getting to our location

To get to Boca de Tomatlán, Mexico, from Licenciado Gustavo Díaz Ordaz International Airport (PVR) in Puerto Vallarta, you have a few options:

1. **Taxi:** The most convenient option. Taxis are available outside the airport, and the journey to Boca de Tomatlán takes about 60 minutes, depending on traffic. Confirm the fare with the driver or check at the taxi stand. The Airport Taxi fares can be quite high priced. 

2.**Uber** You can not get an Uber at the airport, however if you walk to the end of the airport and cross the pedestrian bridge you can catch an uber and get a taco. 

3. **Private Shuttle Service:** Many companies offer pre-booked shuttle services from the airport to Boca de Tomatlán. This can be arranged in advance and may provide a more comfortable travel experience. 

4. **Rental Car:** If you prefer to drive, you can rent a car at the airport. Follow the signs towards the highway, and then take the Route 200 south to Boca de Tomatlán.

5. **Public Transportation:** While this is the most economical option, it’s less direct and involves 2 buses. Each Bus will cost 10 pesos per person and they DO NOT give change. Take a bus or taxi to Puerto Vallarta and then catch a local bus heading south to Boca de Tomatlán. The Boca bus can be found at the OXXO at Basilio Badillo and Constitution.

Important things to know about your trip to Boca de Tomatlán

1. **Hiking to our Villas** Boca de Tomatlan is the start of a world famous Hiking trial to many beautiful beaches. Our Villas are approximately 7 to 10 minutes on the hiking trail. We recommend Packing light and bringing a backpack for the hike. 

2. **ATM** Boca DOES NOT have an ATM and most of the restaurants only take pesos. So it is a good Idea to stop and get pesos along your way to Boca. 

3. **Location:** Boca de Tomatlán is a small fishing village located about 20 kilometers south of Puerto Vallarta, where the Sierra Madre mountains meet the Pacific Ocean.

4. **Beaches:** The area is known for its beautiful beaches, including the main beach in Boca de Tomatlán and nearby beaches like Las Animas and Colomitos, which can be reached by boat or hiking.

5. **Accessibility:** It is a quieter destination compared to Puerto Vallarta, making it ideal for those seeking a more relaxed atmosphere. You can reach Boca de Tomatlán via taxi, shuttle, or bus from Puerto Vallarta.

6. **Outdoor Activities:** The village offers opportunities for outdoor activities such as fishing, hiking, kayaking, and snorkeling. The surrounding mountains and ocean provide stunning natural landscapes.

7. **Restaurants:** Boca de Tomatlán has several local seafood restaurants where you can enjoy fresh catch and traditional Mexican dishes. Dining by the beach is a popular experience.

8. **Local Culture:** It’s a charming village with a laid-back vibe and local culture. You can experience traditional Mexican lifestyle and hospitality.

9. **Day Trips:** Boca de Tomatlán serves as a starting point for boat trips to other nearby beaches and attractions, like the Marietas Islands and Yelapa.

10. **Lodging:** While accommodations range from budget-friendly guesthouses to more upscale options, it’s advisable to book in advance during peak seasons.
